DECLARATION OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS(GMO) PRODUCTS:
BIOSAFETY ACT, 2006

In terms of section 1(2) of the Biosafety Act, 2006 (Act No. 7 of 2006), after consultation with the
Biosafety Council, I -

(a) specify the articles, materials, substances and things indicated in Column 1 of the Schedule,
which are derived from or containing a genetically modified organism or a combination of
genetically modified organisms where such genetically modified organism results from any
of the transformation events indicated in Column 2 of the Schedule, either singular or in a
stack, as GMO products; and

(b) repeal Government Notice No. 259 of 25 September 2018.
